Deals and Steals on Passes and Cards

Nov 20, 2015 by monica

Secure a Season Pass for the 205-2016 Ski Season and be sure you are ready to ski the powder!

Now is the time to purchase a season pass or discount card to one of New Mexico’s ski areas.   A discount card or season pass will not only allow you to ski locally more often, but save you money on lift tickets.  And don’t worry, with the mega El Niño forecasted for our state it should be well worth the investment.

Most season passes and discount cards are offered at discounted prices prior to the opening of the ski season so you can see significant savings when you buy early.  Many of the prices go up around the holidays, so act quickly.   Here’s a quick look at just some of the deals offered at NM ski resorts:

Ski Santa Fe Peak Plus Card:

$69 after November 23. Card is good for $25 off an all-day all mountain lift ticket at Ski Santa Fe or Sandia Peak. Use all season long with no black-out dates. Does not apply to a beginner lift ticket.  skisantafe.com

Taos Card:

$40; $75 after December 18. Card gives you $17 off the single-day ticket rate during regular season, plus every 7th day is free. Blackout dates do apply. skitaos.org

New Mexico Power Pass:

$499-$599 after November 13.  Unlimited skiing at Sipapu and Pajarito with no blackout dates. Includes free or discounted lift tickets at many partner ski areas. sipapunm.com

Red River Ski & Summer Area Deal Daze:

Get discounted full and half day lift tickets at Red River Ski & Summer Area during specific days, including Thanksgiving weekend!  Deal Daze are November 25-29, December 4-6 and December 11-13.  redriverskiarea.com

Angel Fire Resort 6 Pack:

$229 Starting Nov. 26, the 6-pack is back for a very limited time. Get any 6 days on the slopes for only $229! That’s less than $39 per day. With no blackouts and great early season snow, we’re setting you up for a great winter. Sale ends December 1, 2015, at 11:59 p.m. Buy now.

It’s going to be a spectacular winter on New Mexico’s slopes for all skiers and snowboarders.  So be ready for season open, keep an eye on our snow report, and we’ll see you on the mountain.

Welcome El Niño!

Nov 20, 2015 by monica

New Mexico’s mountains are bracing for what could be the greatest ski season on record thanks to one of the strongest El Niño years the state has ever seen.

Warming of the sea surface temperatures in the Pacific fuel El Niño “conditions” creating colder and wetter weather patterns across the country, especially here in the Southwest.  The National Weather Service is forecasting above-average snowfall for New Mexico this winter.  In fact, several New Mexico ski resorts saw significant snowfall in early November.

Mark your calendars and clear your schedules, New Mexico ski areas are gearing up for their opening days and they are quickly approaching.  Below are scheduled open dates for the 2015-2016 ski season:

New Mexico Ski Resorts Announce Opening Days

Sipapu  – November, 14

Red River – November, 25

Taos Ski Valley – November, 26

Ski Apache – November, 26

Ski Santa Fe – November, 26

Pajarito – November, 27

Angle Fire – December, 11

Enchanted Forest – Mid-December

Sandia Peak – December (TBD)
