Every Saturday night at Red River Ski & Summer Area people gather to watch the torchlight parade. Here’s what you need to know before you go.

Logistics

From a distance, the torchlight parade looks like people waving lights down a mountain. Up close, it’s much more than that. Area skiers and snowboarders hold onto actual balls of fire, and, in an extreme act of coordination, wave them around while sliding down the mountain—at night. If nothing else, it’s good to go just to marvel at/be jealous of their talent.

Location

People gather at Lift House Bar & Grill to watch the torchlight parade. True to Red River style, there’s something there for the entire family; grab a hot cocoa or adult beverage to warm up during the show.

Planning

There is plenty of room for everyone on either the upper deck or lower patio, but to get a front-row view, arrive a little early. Be sure to dress warmly and bring a blanket if you need it. Don’t forget your phone or camera to take pictures – it goes by fast!
