NM Ski Hall of Fame Nomination

The Hall of Fame honors individuals and groups who have made significant contributions to skiing and snowboarding in New Mexico.

To qualify for election to the Hall of Fame, nominees must meet one or more of the following criteria:

Ski Athlete
A skier or snowboarder with an outstanding record of competition at divisional, national, or international levels, contributing directly to the State of New Mexico.

Ski-Sport Builder
An individual or group with significant contributions to organizing, promoting, or developing the skiing industry in New Mexico.

Inspirational Figure
An individual, group, or company that has enhanced the knowledge, enjoyment, or pursuit of skiing or snowboarding in New Mexico.

Special consideration is given to pioneers who played a key role in the development of the sport in New Mexico.

The nomination process ensures that all candidates are fairly evaluated based on their achievements and contributions.

1. Eligibility
   • Nominations may be submitted by any sponsor.
   • Sponsors must complete a nomination form and include a letter of nomination.
2. Submission Deadlines
   • Nominations can be submitted year-round, but to be considered for the current review period, they must be received by April 1, 2025.
3. Eligibility Requirements
   • Nominees may be considered after completing their significant achievements or upon reaching the age of 40, whichever occurs first.
   • The Hall of Fame seeks to recognize individuals in a timely manner.
4. Review Process
   • Upon receiving the nomination form, the Nominating Committee will review the application for eligibility.
   • If a nominee is deemed ineligible, the sponsor will be notified with an explanation.
   • Eligible nominees will proceed to the next stage, and sponsors will be asked to provide additional materials.

Eligible nominees must submit supporting materials that showcase their accomplishments and contributions.

1. Full Biography
   • A typewritten document, no more than four pages, that comprehensively details the nominee's accomplishments related to New Mexico skiing.
2. Photographs
   • Five identical glossy head-and-shoulder photographs of the nominee, preferably ski-oriented and reflective of their most active period.
   • These photos will be used for publicity and display in the Hall of Fame Museum.
3. Supporting Materials
   • Documents or items that validate the nominee's achievements, such as newspaper articles, historical records, film footage, video tapes, patents, blueprints, or books.
