It would be fair to say that Ski New Mexico is a little biased, and we definitely think that our resorts are the best in the world! It turns out that a lot of people outside the Land of Enchantment agree with us. Here’s a quick look at a few of the awards and accolades our state’s ski areas have earned.

Angel Fire Resort

If you’re looking for a great ski resort for snow lovers of all ages, look no further than Angel Fire Resort. “On The Snow” , a hub for snow reports and ski resort reviews named Angel Fire Resort in its list of “Best Ski Resorts for Families and Kids”. It was also the 2022-23 Visitors’ Choice award winner for the most family-friendly ski resort. Additionally, Angel Fire Resort has been recognized for its unique night skiing, its uncrowded atmosphere and its affordability.

Red River Ski Area and Summer Area

Red River’s commitment to providing an unforgettable winter getaway for ski enthusiasts has earned them much recognition and multiple awards as the Best Ski Town in North America by USA today. The USA Today’s Best Ski Towns competition showcases exceptional destinations across the continent and gives ski enthusiasts an opportunity to vote for their favorite winter wonderland., and Red River’s victories in 2021 and 2023 are a testament to the village’s rich heritage, distinctive charm and outstanding ski opportunities.

Taos Ski Valley

Each Spring, The National Ski Areas Association (NSAA) honors ski resorts nationwide for their sustainability, safety, growth and marketing efforts. In 2024, Taos Ski Valley secured its fourth Golden Eagle award for sustainability, and was also a finalist in the Hero of Sustainability category. Taos Ski Valley is the world’s first and only Certified B Corporation ski resort and has long been a pioneer in sustainability practices in the industry.

Ski Santa Fe 

In 2023, Ski Santa Fe was named in the Wall Street Journal’s 100 Best Ski Resorts in the U.S. and Canada. Resorts were ranked on their average snowfall, top vertical drop and more. The city of Santa Fe is also consistently ranked highly by travel and leisure blogs, and is considered a top tourist destination.

USA Today 10 Best Reader’s Choice Awards 2024

Every year, a panel of experts at USA Today submit nominations for reader’s choice awards that span multiple categories. This year both Red River and Taos are nominated for the Best Ski Town award. The Ernie Blake Snowsports School is also nominated in the Best Ski School Category.
